You can bring an existing Articulate Rise course into CreateUpon. Upload the Rise SCORM package and CreateUpon converts each lesson into fully editable cards. It then uses AI to add learning objectives, course-level outcomes, and a short description. This guide walks through the import and what to expect.
On the first screen of course creation (the Type step), select Import SCORM. If you do not see it, select Other Ways To Create.
Upload the .zip file you exported from Articulate Rise. Drag and drop it onto the upload area, or click to browse.
Only .zip files exported from Rise are accepted.
The maximum file size is 500 MB.
Only Articulate Rise packages are supported today. Other SCORM or authoring-tool exports are not yet supported and will not import.
CreateUpon reads the package and builds an editable course. It keeps your Rise title, description, and cover image, and picks up an accent color and fonts to match. Each Rise lesson becomes an editable lesson, and a Rise quiz lesson becomes an exam.
Most Rise content comes across as native, editable elements:
text, headings, statements, lists, and tables
images, video, audio, attachments, and embeds
quotes, galleries, flashcards, accordions, tabs, labeled graphics, charts, and buttons
multiple-choice and matching knowledge checks become interactive quizzes
Some Rise features do not have an exact match in CreateUpon. Rather than drop them, CreateUpon adds them as editable placeholder cards, so nothing is lost. After the import you see a one-time notice, Some Rise features could not be imported exactly, listing what came in as placeholders.
Fill-in-the-blank questions come in as a text card that shows the question and accepted answers, not as an interactive input.
Timeline blocks come in as one card per event.
Any block CreateUpon does not recognize comes in as an editable placeholder for you to rebuild or remove.
A Rise package does not include learning objectives, so CreateUpon reads the imported lessons and uses AI to add:
learning objectives for each lesson
course-level outcomes
a short course description
All Rise lessons import into a single module. You can regroup them into modules afterwards.
Some decorative styling is not carried across, and theme colors and fonts are approximated to the closest CreateUpon options.
Review your interactions and knowledge checks after import, since some come in as placeholders.
Objectives, outcomes, and the description are AI-generated from the imported content, so review them before you publish.
